1. Who We Are

ProSe is a document preparation service operated by Clawmint Systems, based in Ontario, Canada. We provide automated document drafting tools for self-represented litigants in Ontario courts. ProSe is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of beprose.ca and governs how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy legislation.

3. What We Collect

Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed) when you create an account. Authentication is managed through Supabase.

Case and Legal Information: Details you provide to generate court documents, which may include names of parties, case numbers, dates, facts of your matter, and other information relevant to your legal proceeding.

Payment Information: Billing name, address, and payment method details. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. ProSe does not store your credit card number or banking information.

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, browser type, device type, and IP address. Collected via Google Analytics (GA4) and Plausible Analytics.

Communications: Any messages you send to us via email or support channels.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Create and manage your ProSe account
• Generate court documents based on the information you provide
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Provide customer support
• Improve our service through aggregated usage analysis
• Communicate with you about your account, updates, or service changes
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your case information or document content to train AI models beyond what is required to process your individual requests.

5. Legal Basis and Consent

By creating an account and using ProSe, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by closing your account, subject to any legal or contractual obligations that require us to retain certain information.

6. Third-Party Services

ProSe uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Supabase stores your account credentials and session data. See: supabase.com/privacy

Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment transactions and stores payment method information. See: stripe.com/privacy

Google Analytics (GA4) — Website analytics. Google may use cookies and collect anonymized usage data. See: policies.google.com/privacy

Plausible Analytics — Privacy-friendly website analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. See: plausible.io/privacy

Anthropic — AI document generation. Content you provide to generate documents is processed by Anthropic's Claude API. See: anthropic.com/privacy

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial transaction records required for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@beprose.ca.

8. Cookies

Essential cookies: Required for authentication and to keep you logged in. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Analytics cookies: Used by Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data. You may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Plausible Analytics does not use cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable Ontario law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent to our use of your personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

10. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

ProSe is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on beprose.ca. Continued use of ProSe after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
